Cottage garden beauty at its best. For me, little else scratches the blooming itch like the hydrangea.
This spring, I was disheartened when one of my Endless Summer hydrangeas appeared to have succumbed over the winter. Nothing but a mound of brittle sticks.
I was fully prepared to set out for a replacement when the tiniest of green stems showed its face through the soil. The growth is small, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. This beauty apparently isn't willing to go down without a fight, so I'll let it fight on. I've got nothing but time.
Make it a great day!
I love hydrangeas, but mine are only beginning to leaf our now. If yours are in bloom, you must have had a warmer late winter.
ReplyDeleteI have tried and tried to grow hydrangeas with no luck (or skill, maybe?)and I suppose that makes me love them all the more. They are my all time absolute favorites, and I swoon when I travel to places like Portland and Seattle where they're abundant. I swooned over your photos. Best of luck with yours.
ReplyDeleteI have two and for the last 12 years either one or the other have looked hopeless. But they always make it. Mine are not that far along yet. They are also my favorite flower to look at and to paint.

Gorgeous photos! Good luck with your hydrangea. I've got one that I've thought was a goner a couple of times and now it's huge!
