Old-fashioned bachelor buttons. An instant step back in time to:
Grandma's garden
On hot summer days
Chasing butterflies and
mystical fireflies
Brewed iced tea and
fresh radish sandwiches
Tire swings, teeter totters,
skipping rope and hopscotch
Windows thrown wide open,
Laundry on the line
Mornings in the kitchen
Evenings on the porch
Lovely post! Reminds me of my Grandma's although she had rose gardens everywhere. The fresh brewed tea is always the best at Grandma's!
ReplyDeleteAnn, thank you for stopping by Quirky Vistas and leaving me a sweet comment. I just love this post of yours. The photograph is lovely and the memories are definitely a step back in time, and I am all about that! I'm your newest follower!
ReplyDeleteThe Bachelor Buttons are just now starting to bloom in the desert hills where I walk each day. These are so pretty by the bucket full!
ReplyDeleteThey look so pretty! That does sound like a great day--so cozy! I am your newest follower. I hope you can visit me sometime too:)
ReplyDeleteCame over from Cowgirl Up. I love the blue of these wild and wonderful plants. I have dug clumps up along the roadside before the mowers got them, but we seem to live about 20 miles from their natural survival line. They never reseed.
