What the Elk?

NATIONAL PHOTO MONTH, DAY 9

On our long weekend trip to the Rockies, we came across a small herd of mangy-looking elk in a pasture west of Evergreen, Colorado.

I grunged up the photos in the spirit of their molting coats.

Are they coming or going?

Mooning, maybe?

Make it a great day!

  1. They can be bold creatures! When I visited Banff some time ago I stayed on the first floor of a hotel. In the very early morning I thought someone was trying to get into my room - two Elk were rubbing up against the outer wall as they ate the shrubbery. It was a little disconcerting to look out the window right into their eyes.
